About the Role
This role reports directly to the Group Company Secretary and will be considered as a ‘Second in Command’.

You will be required to support the Group Company Secretary by:
• Helping to provide Management and the Board with assurance that the Group operates a risk management framework which effectively identifies and manages all risks which might prevent the organisation achieving its objectives and puts in place the necessary arrangements to manage risks and mitigate their effects;
• Assisting in the placement and day to day management of the Group’s insurance programme (including both the aviation and non-aviation elements of the programme);
• Providing risk management and insurance advice and guidance to all businesses within the organisation; and
• Assisting in managing external relationships with service providers including insurers and brokers


Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

• Providing active support and involvement in the risk management process, such as co-ordinating risk registers, individual risk templates, facilitating risk management workshops, monitoring activities and status reporting;
• Challenging and evaluating the risk assessment of key business risk exposures and the effectiveness of the risk management framework;
• Identifying areas for improved risk management practices within the organisation and making recommendations for effective management of the risk
• Working with the businesses to gather & review renewal information for corporate insurance arrangements. This includes collection, interpretation and analysis of renewal data and liaison with brokers, through to vetting of accuracy of premiums and invoicing;
• Undertaking internal consultation and negotiation with the businesses to ensure they are aware of the insurance coverage in place and the premiums charged and why;
• Interpreting policy wordings from a number of insurance companies, and responding to/resolving any queries from the businesses or third parties;
• Reviewing, responding to and assisting with survey reports undertaken by insurers to ensure adequate responses given to Insurers and that adequate resources are provided to protect the Group’s assets;
• Mitigating the insurable and uninsurable risks of the businesses by providing advice and specific training with respect to: insurance requirements within commercial contracts; applicability of insurance cover; and the businesses’ compliance with the terms and conditions of the insurance policies;
• Reviewing and negotiating contractual insurance, indemnity and liability obligations placed on the organisation;
• Managing the claims notification process and supporting the claims management process; and
• Managing and facilitating the delivery of pro-active risk management programmes.

The logical progression for this role will be into the role of Group Company Secretary in due course. However, Marshall also offers a wide breadth of opportunities to move around within the business opening up the potential to move into a Project Management or Commercial focus.

Location
This role will be based from our head office at Cambridge Airport and will require travel to London 3-4 times per month. There will also be some flexibility on hours (start and finish times) to suit the successful candidate.

• Ability to provide advice to businesses on the cover they require and the interpretation of current cover in place
• Successful track record in handling insurance negotiations between business, broker and insurers
• Successful track record in implementing improved risk management processes and achieving buy in from the organisation
