Safran Ventilation Systems USA, LLC currently has an opening for a Repair Technician.

The Repair Technician will disassemble, clean, troubleshoot, overhaul, repair a variety of electrical/mechanical devices used on commercial aircraft in accordance with component maintenance manual, repair station manual and FAA requirements while demonstrating proficiency in a repair station environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Under close supervision, does electronic, electromechanical or mechanical repairs by performing the following duties.

* - Disassembly, cleaning, troubleshooting, overhaul, repair and assembly of aircraft components, assemblies and accessories in a repair station environment to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.

* - Accurately interpret component maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, drawings, engineering orders and other documents from both the customer and company.

* - Utilizes small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers

* - Understand and follow verbal instructions and execute to meet deadlines

* - Measures parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges and scales.

* - Accurately document work performed as set forth by company and customer maintenance programs.

* - Requisition parts and material necessary to complete jobs using ERP system. Receive and inspect incoming material to ensure the order is accurate.

* - Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.

* - Ability to multi-task; work on multiple projects.

* - Maintain a clean, organized work area.

Job requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

* - High School diploma or equivalent
* - Prefer 2 years of prior experience performing tear down, troubleshooting, overhaul and repair duties on aircraft components, aircraft assemblies, aircraft sub-assemblies in an FAA 145 Repair Station or experience as an aircraft powerplant mechanic or aircraft engine mechanic is highly preferred.
* - An airframe and powerplant (A&P) license is preferred
* - Must have strong mechanical skills and a basic understanding of electronics
* - Aerospace experience a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Applicant must have excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity and physical durability.

* - Near vision (see details at a close range) and ability to distinguish colors
* - Finger dexterity (ability to quickly move your hand, together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects)
* - Able to list and carry a minimum of 25 pounds without accommodations
* - Sitting for an entire shift
* - Repetitive motion for an entire shift
* - Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to included but not limited to safety glasses, wrist straps, gloves, etc.
