Barnes Group Inc., Engineered Components has a unique opportunity for a highly motivated Quality Assurance Technician. We are looking for a self-starting and self-motivated candidate who can take ownership of the automotive, aerospace and industrial aspects of our quality system. The position will drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing process and lead corrective action initiatives at the Milwaukee Division. We are looking for a strong key player in our quality department. Required Skills

* Review / maintain completed manufacturing paperwork for accuracy.

* Compile First Article Inspection reports (FAI per AS9102) and Certificates of Compliance for shipments.

* Accurately review and file all records associated with each production order.

* Act as the Lead to the gage calibration process. Ensure plant maintains a system the meets all ISO/AS standards. Order new measuring equipment as required.

* Responsible for the completion of the final inspection reports that meet customers’ requirements.

* Perform hardness, load loss, tensile tests, grinder burn tests, cleanliness tests, and other testing of product as required.

* Ballooning prints and preparing FAIR forms.

* Perform internal audits as required.

* Ability to perform process capability analysis including gage R&R studies.

* Perform inspections for PPAP’s, FAIR’s, or other inspections as required.

* Provide assistance and lead corrective actions / root cause analysis and assist with the disposition of non-conforming product.

* Ability to engage with customers as required

Required Experience

* Working knowledge of ISO14001, EN ISO13485, ISO9001, AS9100, Control Plans, FMEA’s and PPAP’s according to AIAG requirements.

* Experience in putting together PPAP documentation and / or AS9102 FAIR packages for submission to customers.

* Experience assembling certificates of compliance, working with standard shop routers and supplier certifications.

* Highly evolved communication skills (verbal, written, computer).

* Highly evolved organizational skills.

* Ability to use a variety of precision measuring devices.

* Ability to read and interpret various types of manufacturing documents and blueprints.

* Experience with hands on measuring/inspecting of product using optical comparator, calipers, micrometers,

* Able to efficiently utilize computer software such as Excel, Outlook, gage software and SPC software.

* Understanding of spring characteristics (load, rate, parallelism, squareness, etc. a plus.

* Experience with SPC, gage calibration, root cause analysis, GD&T, a plus.
