Job Description

Job Summary & Essential Functions: The following describes in general terms the purpose and scope of the position.

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations related to quality
procedures, work instructions, process alerts, auditing and administration of
the Quality Management System, document control and training program.

Lead quality initiatives related to the internal and external audit processes, including the internal auditor training program for the facility.

Maintain quality documents and records.

Establish and evolve formal quality processes, ensuring that team is using industry best practices.

Participates in root cause/ corrective action process and quality risk mitigation plans for company and quality objectives including FMEA and PFMEA.

Act as key point of contact for all quality audits, internal and external, including but not limited to AS9100, Nadcap and customer required audits.

Drives analysis on product defects, production processes and customer requirements in order to recommend modifications and / or quality standards.

Maintains and works in conjunction with Quality Director to continually improve the Quality Management SystemFocal point for external QMS questions and issues.

Establishes effective communications channels that ensure the flow of quality related information to internal and external customers as required.

Partners with Operation leaders to develop new quality performance metrics as necessary.

Assists in development of strategic and tactical plans to ensure achievement of department and company goals.

Ensure that 3rd party certifications meet all the requirements of AS-9100, NADCAP and or
customers specifications as applicable.

Coordinate with DCMA, government contract management agencies, when corrective action is issued, root cause analysis and ensure response to DCMA.

Ensure that assigned employees are properly trained / cross-trained and are performing in accordance with expected productivity measures.

Manage day to day activities of temp workers assigned to auditing, scanning or CI activities.

Strong analytical and communication skills

Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook

Proficiency in MS Office applications (Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask

Lean and six sigma training and/or experience

Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and specifications

Strong statistical and mathematic skills

Experience in manufacturing environment; preferably from automotive, aerospace and /or
defense environments.

Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered.

BS degree desired (equivalent training and experience in technical or quality areas considered)

Five or more years in direct quality related area
