Job Description

Plans, evaluates and monitors activities to develop, apply and maintain quality systems for industrial processes, materials, specifications, products, policies and procedures. Evaluate, monitor, develop and implement standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation of processes and products to meet engineering and customer requirements. Investigate, recommend and implement continuous improvements to company operations

Essential Job Functions:

* Develop, apply and maintain quality requirements and standards for the development and manufacture of products.

* Maintain all quality records and documentation in accordance with the quality manual and specific customer requirements.

* Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing quality assurance and the customer.

* Design, document and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.

* Ensure proper inspections have been performed to ensure product quality. This will include the inspection of incoming material as well as in process and final inspection of completed product.

* Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, and test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports. Assist in process certification.

* Develop, execute and analyze quality-reporting measures.

* Conduct internal quality audits within the department.

* Interface with supplier and customer quality representative concerning problems with quality assurance and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.

Required Experience

Engineering degree in quality assurance engineering and 2 years of work experience, or 6 years of work experience, or associate’s degree in engineering and 4 years work experience. Possess experience and working knowledge or flight characteristics and/or aerodynamic theory as well as associated inspection methods. Experience with aviation manufacturing, root cause & corrective action, process improvement, lean manufacturing & six-sigma a plus.

Requires comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing process and quality system, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements. Must have working knowledge of Windows based computer programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must demonstrate flexibility on the job, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
