Position Summary:
Quality Assurance Technician
Location: Franklin, IN

Responsible to the QA Manager/Chief Inspector for ensuring satisfactory inspection criteria is met in accordance with established business objectives and department goals. Performs maintenance release inspections in accordance with OEM, and/or customer technical data and FAA approved data. Witness test of warranty components and act as a liaison with the appropriate customer contacts (I.E. Engineering) on related warranty matters. Perform analysis and write quality reports to customers for components with chronic failures. Perform quality verification inspections (process audits) of key components. Perform internal audits (Regulator Compliance, Special Process and Quality Processes) per company audit schedule.

Provides support and updates substantiation files on current capability items.

Support the shops in all quality related matters. Perform any other duties or task assigned by Quality Management.

Key Position Responsibilities:

Ensures inspections are properly performed in accordance with OEM technical data, FAA Approved Data, customer and FAA/EASE/CAAC/DCA regulatory requirements. Determines that no defective, unservicable or non-airworthy conditions exist prior to release to service. Verifies accomplishment & recording of all incoming, preliminary, hidden damage & in-process inspection, as well as to perform final inspection on units released. Performs other duties or task assigned by Quality Management.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Have at least 2-5 years experience in the aviation industry, specifically in the repair, overhaul and inspection of commercial aircraft components. Must have experience and be familiar with the inspection and maintenance techniques of the components the repair station is rated to repair. Must be familiar with FAA/EASE/Foreign Air Authority Regulatory requirements, their interpretation and enforcement. Must have good communication skills, written and verbal. Computer literate in all common Microsoft business programs (I.E. Word, Excel, etc).
