QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR

This position will be on weekend day shift - scheduled days will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Summary Description: Perform in-process and final inspection of machined, fabricated, processed, and assembled product, maintain quality records and documentation as required, and perform related tasks to ensure delivered product meets or exceeds customer requirements and expectations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

* Verify configuration/acceptability of raw material and out-sourced production and special processing using the appropriate documentation, specifications, and resources.

* Review and interpret customer, supplier and internal technical documentation to determine acceptability of product or process with minimal assistance.

* First Article Inspection:

* Prepare and/or complete FAI reports (AS9102 forms 1, 2, and 3) with minimal or no assistance.

* Review and approve first article forms prepared by Level I Inspectors

* Perform peer review of FAI reports upon request

Abilities:

* Be able to review blueprints and specifications to determine product acceptance criteria.

* Use certified gauges, instruments, and tooling as required.

* Fully competent in the understanding and interpretation of manufacturing planning, setup sheets, shop charts and verbal work instructions.

* Make required entries into manufacturing planning (work order) and ERP business operating system, including completion of any supplemental forms attached or referenced.

* Review manufacturing documents including customer purchase orders, materials and processing documentation, and engineering specifications to determine product/process requirements and apply that information to the current job or work order with minimal or no assistance.

* Advanced blueprint reading capabilities.

* Assist with on-the-job training (OJT) of Level I inspectors as assigned by supervision

* Perform special assignments (example: tooling acceptance or 1st part conformity) upon request.

* Receive and maintain certification in one or more certified inspection operations (i.e. Rockwell, electrical conductivity, weld, sealant, etc.) upon management request.

* Able to perform multiple inspection functions as assigned.

* Able to perform required data entry into applicable ERP business operating system.

* Perform as a lead person if required.

* Demonstrate a high level of efficiency and organization in daily activities.

* Demonstrate good communication and self-management skills

* Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, crouching, bending and stretching.

* Lifting up to 50 lbs. without assistance and over 50 lbs. with assistance.

* Constant exposure to general shop conditions, including machine noise and metal dust.

* Constant repetitive use of hands, wrists and arms.

Qualifications:

* Minimum of three years of work experience as a Quality Inspector in a machining or assembly aerospace manufacturing facility.

* Verifiable specialized training in product acceptance and demonstrated proficiency to the satisfaction of Quality management or supervision may be considered in lieu of QA inspection experience.

* Working knowledge in basic Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

* Specialized training in blueprint, math, communications or other applicable disciplines.
