Job Description

American Airlines Federal Credit Union, well known for its financial leadership, innovation and service, has an opening for a Project Manager in the Technology & Innovation department at its headquarters located in Ft. Worth, Texas. This position will be responsible for identifying the scope and boundaries of assigned projects, working with internal and external groups to determine project priorities, assisting in the development and documentation of business requirements and ensuring that the project requirements are met within the proposed technology solution and within the approved budget. 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitates scheduled project team meetings
  • Communicates project status appropriately to all project stakeholders
  • Facilitates and documents key project decisions 
  • Documents, tracks and ensures action items are worked in a timely manner
  • Manages project scope
  • Manages change requests to scope, schedule and budget
  • Facilitates gathering and documenting stakeholder requirements
  • Facilitates signoff of project scope and requirements
  • Facilitates and creates RFPs as needed
  • Facilitates vendor selection and contract negotiation
  • Creates and activates risk mitigation plans as needed
  • Facilitates testing stakeholder signoff, partners with QA Leads as applicable
  • Identifies and ensures AA Credit Union resources are scheduled for assigned tasks
  • Holds vendors accountable to their project plan
  • Holds internal and vendor resources accountable to the project’s baseline dates
  • Performs other duties assigned

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or Business
  • Minimum three years’ experience leading medium to large technical projects such as infrastructure, software development or third party software implementations using structured project management practices
  • Experience in using MS Project 
  • Must pass applicable American Airlines pre-hire compliance checks
  • Must have an acceptable credit history, which will be verified (e.g., no past due accounts, charge-offs, collection items or bankruptcies)
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification
  • Project experience in the financial services industry

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software

  • Ability to interface with all levels of staff, including the ability to concisely present work
  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical, organization, planning and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Skilled in the ability to analyze problems objectively
  • Ability to exercise strong vendor management skills and work collaboratively to achieve results
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
