PROJECT CONTROLS LEAD

Purpose:

To actively support the Director of Project Controls, Project Director and/or one or more Project Managers by executing Project Management controls on their projects in line with MADG processes and ways of working with tools as defined by Programme Management & Programme Controls Function.

Duties

*To be accountable leading the governance, deployment & reporting of Risk & Opportunity Management in the allocated Programme/Project

*To be the Project Lead for the independent assurance review and reporting process

*To lead on the assessment of risk and contingency in assurance reviews and activities

*To work with the PD/PM, Commercial & Finance teams in the co-ordination of the monthly project reports

*To support the project contract review (CSR)

*To ensure appropriate Programme/Project Controls Governance is followed by the Project Team

*To ensure all Project activities undertaken comply with the relevant MADG processes

*Support ad-hoc duties that will be consistent with the nature of a Project Controls Manager position within MADG

*Ensure all aspects of programme governance are in place:

*Upkeep of the project-integrated plan

oEnsure the project baseline plan is captured and realistic

oEnsure the actual, achievements, forecasts are captured in a timely manner each month to support progress reviews

oEnsure the Earned Value baseline is fit for purpose

*Supporting project review oGenerating the monthly reporting pack by working with senior project staff and work package managers oEnsure the inputs to key review meetings are produced and distributed in a timely manner e.g. report template, Earned Value statistics, latest baseline plan, latest revised estimates

*Managing Project risk and opportunities oEnsure all risks and opportunities descriptions are captured appropriately in the register oSupport the monthly risk and opportunities reviews oProduce monthly risk and opportunities performance metrics Experience: Essential

*Experience in Project Controls

*Full business lifecycle management, including capture, qualification and developing capture plans and winning strategies §Client and stakeholder management

*A positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.

*An ability to embrace and encourage change.

*Experience of working across boundaries, including knowledge of commercial management, best practice supply chain and finance functions.

*Proven Leader within a matrix style organisation

*Customer-focused balanced with recognising the need for governance

*Ability to establish and meet deadlines, multi-task and prioritise

*Strong planning and delivery orientation

*Commercial / financial / business acumen

*Willingness to work in a collaborative working environment Education:

*Educated to Diploma (HND) level in a subject with clear relevance to project management office requirements.

*Professional accreditation with the Association for Project Management (or equivalent level of professional accreditation).
