About The Job

This job is a member of the HRIT Application Support and Development team which is part of the People Technology Department. The Developer’s role will work closely with our project managers, product owners, business leaders, and development team members to deliver application support and business automation solutions for departments within American Airlines. The development team is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and maintaining IT applications, as well as customization and integration of 3rd party software. Key technologies include SAP ECC 6.0, SAP PI middleware, BSI Tax Factory, database technologies, and network connectivity standards.

Specifically, this role will be responsible for the following:

* Configures, deploys, conducts quality assurance testing, debugs/refactors, and documents technology solutions

* Supports, maintains, and administers deployed solutions

* Ensures security of all data and technology solutions

* Formulates plan outlining steps required to configure module using structured analysis and design

* Analyzes, reviews, and configures modules to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements

* Prepares and documents requirements, testing, and other related solution artifacts according to enterprise standards

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training

* 3 years of experience defining, analyzing, a documenting user requirements

* 3 years of SAP HCM Payroll configuration experience

* 3 years of BSI Tax Factory experience

* 3 years of SAP PI Middleware experience

* Experience in Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio etc.)

* Experience in Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM

* Ability to explain technical concepts and adjust messaging based on the audience, including non-technical groups

* Ability to work well within a team environment, as well as independently

Preferred Qualifications

* 5+ years of SAP HCM Payroll configuration experience

* 5+ years of BSI Tax Factory experience

* 5+ years of SAP PI Middleware experience

* 5+ years of application support experience

* Experience with ABAP development

* Experience with SuccessFactors HCM

* Airline Industry experience

* Ability to influence through outstanding interpersonal skills, collaboration, and negotiation skills

* Experience with Test Driven Development

* Experience in DevOps Toolchain methodologies, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
