Position Description:

Summary of Position

Accountable to lead and manage the manufacturing activities in the plant and to deliver results consistent with customer requirements and the annual Plant objectives. Accountable for plant activities which ensure worker safety, compliance with environmental regulations, Company quality systems, and production goals.

Position Requirements

High school diploma or the equivalent. 3 - 5 years of demonstrated supervisor experience in a metals manufacturing environment with an appropriate progression of increased responsibility and success. The proven ability to work productively with individuals at all levels inside and outside the organization. Demonstrated skills with PC office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Power Point and MS Outlook.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage all plant manufacturing activities consistent with customer requirements and the annual Plant objectives.

2. Based on the capacity analysis provided by the Atomizing Manager, accountable to develop and implement department production schedules to match manufacturing requirements. Directly and through others, communicate production schedules and any modifications to department employees. Accountable for optimum staffing levels to minimize overhead and raw materials costs consistent with operations budget.

3. Direct production and maintenance employees to meet operating objectives.

4. Coach, lead and counsel production staff to achieve department objectives and to support individual employee development. Exercise the customary role of a manager to include but not be limited to safety, work quality, work volume, work assignment, communications, positive reinforcement, performance review, performance management, wage and salary administration, equal employment opportunity and, if needed, discipline.

5. Accountable directly and through others, to create and implement department manufacturing practices, procedures, systems and structures to align with customer requirements and the Department Work Plan. Work with others to identify and implement manufacturing changes to improve safety, quality, productivity and cost reduction. Manufacturing practices, procedures, systems and the work culture will include the core values of worker safety, compliance with environmental regulations and integration with the Company quality systems.

6. As requested, participate in the development of the annual department work plan and operations budget. Accountable to communicate the annual work plan within the assigned department. Ensure all department manufacturing activities operate consistent with the work plan and the budget.

7. As requested, participate in the development of the manufacturing plans created to guide future department manufacturing activities. Work with applicable internal and external experts to establish optimum workflow, systems, facilities and equipment requirements.

8. As requested, conduct or participate in internal audits and similar activities to support ISO certification process.

9. As requested, participate in customer visits to share information about Company products, services and manufacturing capabilities to retain customer relationships and develop new business relationships.

Performance in this position is evaluated objectively through the results delivered by melting, metal powder processing, and distribution consistent with the commitment to worker safety, compliance with environmental regulations, integration with the Company quality system, the Department Work Plan, the timely completion of Work Plan objectives and the effective operation and organization of atomizing and composite activities. Performance in this position is evaluated subjectively by employee productivity, employee development and creativity.

Materials, Tools Automobile, office equipment to include but not be limited to personal
and Equipment Used: computer and printer, office paging equipment, facsimile machine and copy machine. When in Production areas, required safety equipment includes steel toe boots, industrial safety glasses, hearing protection, work gloves and respirator.
