Overview

Overview:

* Reporting to the Head of Procurement this role will lead the Component purchase Rotable and Indirect procurement team, focusing primarily on providing a robust and timely procurement service, ensuring that inventory is procured for the best TCO value and in line with business and customer requirements; translating and reporting back adherence to Strategic direction as set out.
* Lead on Indirect expenditure projects, proactively sourcing / managing and driving cost benefit across the site Indirect spend areas.

* Demonstrate the ability to gain credibility with internal stakeholders and persuade people to change and/or adhere to an agreed strategic approach
* Develop an in depth understanding of the supply market to deliver set out strategic direction.
* Demonstrating the ability to provide operational leadership to deliver targeting opportunities for cost reduction and supplier enhancement

Responsibilities

Sourcing and Purchasing:

* Identification of appropriate sources to fulfil business requirements
* Establishes mechanisms to identify and quantify (estimate) on-going sourcing based opportunities to reduce TCO of business unit products and services across the supply chain and within the organisation, e.g. daily buying, supply management, other sourcing/buying activity.
* Responsible for the category/sourcing and buying process for the operational team, to develop appropriate and innovative TCO-based approach. This approach will include aspects such as (but not limited to):

* Operational efficiency improvements, maximising the streamlining of all transactional activity, removing/eliminating waste and duplication, whilst improving accuracy
* Ensuring products are bought for the right price on all occasions, protecting company margin
* Demand is maximised in the supply chain, resulting in achieving the optimum value for money position
* Compiling and maintaining comprehensive supply base records such as; contractual information, supply chain information and stakeholder engagement

* Scans the market to keep abreast of technological and market changes, reporting findings to management, which can also result in opportunities to reduce TCO and implements best practice.
* Develops metrics and MI reports to track improvements over time, reporting to senior management, aligning to target operating models where directed.
* monitors execution and modifies plans where appropriate to keep pace with changing business imperatives
* Drives procurement specific business intelligence needs and shares information with peer functions across the business, as appropriate.
* Supports cross business leverage initiatives and procurement team collaboration.
* Conducts joint benchmarking and best practice reviews on operational procurement practices.
* Ensures the provision of relevant procurement information to the operation and respective business areas.
* Supports the collaboration of subordinate staff/category teams with other business areas on key categories.
* Price and commercial evaluation and negotiation on new business opportunities
* Continual review of existing commercial terms
* Reporting benefits
* Define and provide an end-to-end request for pricing service for rotable opportunities

Supplier Engagement

* Coordinates supplier performance and engagement through the development of appropriate mechanisms and systems
* Develops key performance indicators to track improvements flowing from implementation
* Reviews the overall effectiveness of supplier contracts and relationships, identifies further opportunities and implements improvements
* Coordinates the drafting, modifying and sign-off all Rotable purchase initiatives.
* Ensures that supplier engagement optimises stakeholder requirements.
* Takes pro-active action based on supplier performance measurements
* Facilitates the establishment of suitable product specifications for key items. Ensures these specifications are fit for purpose.
* Influences decisions at an operational level regarding supplier selection and application, with the appropriate sign-off and direction.

Special Projects;

* Manage allocated projects in line with Qmaps process
* Project Validation
* Responsible for all operating procedures and quality requirements aligned to the role
* Proactively managing Indirect spend, both tactically and strategically, including managing a 7 steps sourcing process; working with stakeholders to deliver the best TCO value.

Team Leading;

* Approving/reviewing quotations up to $20,000
* Reviewing team workloads
* Ensuring team performance
* Housekeeping (timesheets, holiday requests, pastoral care)
* Hold monthly team reviews and meetings

General Responsibilities;

Any additional tasks as required by management.

Person Specification

Qualifications:

* A recognised degree in business, finance, engineering or law desirable, or by exception an equivalent Diploma in a business / procurement related discipline.

* MCIPS qualified or studying towards with achievement at least to level 4.

Experience:

* A minimum of 5 years supply management and sourcing experience in both Direct and Indirect, with exposure to contract management, procurement and logistics/materials management. Prior exposure to aerospace component procurement/supply chain and/or general aerospace environment or operational environment in a relevant industry or sector is highly desirable; as is demonstrated success in managing a multi-disciplinary team in an operational environment. The ability to craft long-term internal and external business relationships; excel in cause and change management.

* Reasonable knowledge of commercial agreements
* Highly motivated with a capability to handle demanding workload that requires accuracy
* Proven ability to solve problems promptly and effectively
* Proven interpersonal and communication skills in MS Office
