Privacy and Spam Compliance Specialist

As the Privacy and Spam Compliance Specialist, you will support the oversight of Tigerair’s compliance with its obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act) and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). You will report to the Virgin Australia Group Privacy Officer (GPO) and the Business Planning and Projects Team.You must understand Tigerair’s:

* Obligations under the Privacy Act (including the Australian Privacy Principles) and the role of the Office of Australian Information Commissioner and its privacy regulatory powers; and

* Obligations under the Spam Act and ACMA’s regulatory powers .

Your key responsibilities will include;

* Working with stakeholders to understand information handling practices within the business

* Ensuring business units are compliant with Australian privacy principles

* Reviewing business processes and procedures regularly to ensure they are up-to-date and compliant and undertaking Privacy Impact Assessments.

* Assisting GPO implementing Privacy Management Plan.

* Management of the privacy inbox.

* Assisting the legal team with privacy and Spam related matters.

* Compliance reporting and participation in Governance Group.

* Championing Privacy and Spam awareness across the business

* Assisting with training initiatives

To succeed in this role you will be able to demonstrate;

* Proven understanding/ knowledge of the Australian Privacy principles and Privacy Act and the Spam Act

* Tertiary qualifications (preferably in law or a related business experience in a similar discipline) or relevant industry experience

* Attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills

* Stakeholder engagement/ management
