Job Summary: Has the ability to make major decisions in the development, design, and production of structural repair, modification, and inspection documentation. Demonstrated leadership capability applying technical knowledge and mentoring skills. Evaluate and interpret AD, FAR, and Delta policy requirements to ensure compliance in all engineering documentation. Works closely with the managers, foremen and technicians of Line and Base Maintenance. Must practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Job Qualifications: Four year accredited undergraduate engineering degree (Aeronautical/Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil) required. May require working odd hours based on operational requirements. Preferred Qualifications: At least 9 years of specific experience in the design and analysis of aircraft structural repairs. At least 3 years of experience providing engineering support for line aircraft and live aircraft operations. Extensive background in Structural Analysis, including Statics, Materials Science and Fracture Mechanics. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Adaptable and flexible. Ability to apply extensive technical experience and provide innovative solutions. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of maintenance and engineering. Should have the ability to analyze incomplete information and implement timely decision making while mitigating risk factors. Strong organizational and time management skills. Must have a thorough knowledge of FAA regulations. Should possess a thorough understanding of maintenance requirements, processes, and procedures. Must be a strong supporter of Six Sigma and continuous improvement efforts. Must be performing satisfactorily in present position. Working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Access) and AutoCAD (or similar CAD software). Previous experience with aging aircraft structure is preferred.
