Position description

The main task of Revenue Management & Pricing is to achieve the optimal revenue and to maximize profitability for the company by managing the relationship between price, demand and capacity.

Revenue Management Pricing Home Markets & Joint Venture A++ is responsible for the Market Pricing of all Lufthansa Group Hub Airlines (Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian) within our home markets and the North Atlantic Joint Venture, as well as the Cross-functional Pricing teams Pricing Online & Channel and Pricing Corporate. The core element of the Pricing function is providing competitive pricing strategies together with the definition of market objectives, market strategy and tactics to increase passenger volume and Lufthansa Group/Joint Venture revenues.

In addition, the department is responsible for conceptual design, implementation, monitoring, enhancement and strategic realignment of price and offer concepts to optimise Lufthansa Group/Joint Venture revenues.

The Pricing Analyst for Online and Distribution Channel Pricing is responsible for online and distribution channel specific price products and concepts – both price setting and creating new concepts.

In this position you will be accountable for all online and distribution channel specific price products, which can be applied by the market pricer. Furthermore, you are responsible to develop distribution channel specific products and concepts within the Lufthansa Group and also monitor the overall performance of the product(s). You will derive necessary pricing measures to optimize the overall revenue of the online and distribution channel specific products within the overall product portfolio. This position offers high exposure to senior and upper management as the topic is at the core of LHG Commercial Strategy.

The position is based in ZRH, while the team and interfaces are distributed over several locations. You report to the Head of Revenue Management Pricing Online & Channel and Corporates (HD/RH-F) located in FRA.

Your Duties

* Project coordination and execution of Lufthansa Group’s online and distribution channel specific pricing approaches considering new distribution technologies as well as central distribution strategies
* Overall pricing lead of the Lufthansa Group online and distribution channel specific pricing products together with the team
* Analyse and monitor market development, performance and elaboration of benchmarks
* Set prices and conditions of the different online and distribution channel specific products
* Implementation of distribution channel specific measures in various distribution systems including online platforms
* Initiate and undertake internal or inter-departmental projects with focus on online and distribution channel specific revenues as determined by senior management
* Provide strong understanding of all relevant online and distribution channel specific products and act as a sole point of entry within Lufthansa Group pricing
* Model and calculate business cases, simulations, capital expenditure calculations, etc.
* Ensure that pricing concepts meet the technical, legal and operational requirements for a successful implementation at all touchpoints
* Prepare persuasive presentations for upper management
* Close collaboration and exchange with interfaces within Lufthansa Group Revenue Management, Distribution and Sales

Requirements

* University degree in economics, business administration or similar education
* Excellent English knowledge, German is an asset
* Experience in project management is an asset
* Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
* Airline business knowledge and knowledge of distribution systems is an advantage
* Ability to break down complex subjects down to their essential components
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
* A self-starter who enjoys taking ownership of a project and following it through until the end
* Excellent oral and written presentation skills; must be competent at writing and illustrating analyses and presentations
* Willingness to further expand and develop own skill-set/knowledge and seek new approaches to problems
* Willing to act within the commercial network of the Lufthansa Group and willing to travel
