Job Summary

This position is for a Pr Technical Project Manager on the Advanced Systems team in the Airborne Products and Systems organization. The Advanced Systems team is a research and development group responsible for supporting the maturation of key emerging technologies and differentiators required to position Collins Aerospace for both current and future growth opportunities; supporting our military and their partners. This includes, but is not limited to, advancements in next generation Human Machine Interface (HMI), helmet mounted displays, communications management and vehicle control, personal electronic devices, as well as, model based engineering processes, tools, techniques, formal methods analysis, cyber security and Open Systems development.

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about continuous improvement and have a desire to identify and drive efficiencies through process enhancements by utilizing new and emerging tools and technologies. The ideal candidate understands the competitive landscape and provides direction on strategic technology plans based on the company’s competitive positions. The candidate will serve as technical leader for development and integration activities for highly strategic development project teams. The candidate will also support and/or lead bid and pursuit strategy teams and development of technical proposals. The position will also require the ability to lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers through all phases of the development process, responsible for project management within guidelines provided by the Life Cycle Value Stream Manager (LCVSM).

Job Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities of this position include the following:

* Support development of system level proposals and participate on pursuit development strategy teams

* Coordinate all technical and project execution aspects of bid and proposal activities

* Serve as technical leader for highly complex and/or highly strategic development project teams

* Develop and manage integrated program schedules; Ensuring critical path and key dependencies are effectively managed to ensure project success

* Manage program technical execution and maintain performance metrics for management review and continuous improvement

* Effectively manage program-level scope and change management, working closely with LCVSM to ensure alignment

* Manage and maintain technology roadmaps with internal and external stakeholders

* Creativity and alternative thinking to develop new or novel ideas to solve problems.

* Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions

* Experience with design, requirements capture, development, and integration of complex military avionics software systems

* Experience with avionics development processes such as (ARP4754, ARP4761, DO-254, DO-178)

* Experience with systems/software modeling languages (SysML, UML, AADL, or equivalent)

* Experience with visual modeling and design tools (Enterprise Architect or equivalent)

* Experience with DoD open systems architecture and protocols (FACE, JCA, HOST, etc)

* Experience with scripting and scripting languages (JavaScript, VBScript, Python, or equivalent)

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.

* U.S. Citizenship is required

* Must possess or be eligible for obtaining and maintaining a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance
