JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Summary:
The Power Electronics Design Engineer designs analog power electrical circuits for converter, inverter, and various other power supply applications from a few watts to a few hundred KW for the next generation of products using state of the art technology. Demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals / programs / processes for an area or business segment. Engage in new product development including proposals, design, test, factory and field support, and documentation.

Essential Responsibilities:

In addition, as the Power Electronics Design Engineer, you will:

* Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements

* Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers

* Document and communicate results of technical data generated

* Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives

* Share engineering information and promote open dialogue

* Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business

* Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

* Please Note: Work Location listed is Pompano Beach, FL. However, this position may also be eligible at our Bohemia, NY location

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college

* Minimum of 1 year of Power Electronics or related experience

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

* Please Note: Work Location listed is Pompano Beach, FL. However, this position may also be eligible at our Bohemia, NY location

Desired Characteristics:

* MS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college

* One year of professional experience in the field of power electronics

* Experience with Analog & digital circuit design, including microcontrollers and FPGA based design

* Experience with magnetic circuits and components for power electronic applications

* Has the experience or expertise to solve problems

* Ability to develop and execute objectives

* Strong oral and written communication skills

* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

* Ability to influence others

* Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact

* Proven analytical and organizational ability
