Our client has identified a global initiative to create and deploy a standard Product Data Lifecycle Management (PDLM) system (people, process and IT technology), and is seeking an experience PLM architect to lead this high profile business change.
This is a multi-million pound, multiple work stream initiative across all regions.
The initiative consists of developing a minimum standard and deploying this concept through a series of pilot implementations before establishing a repeatable deployment method.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The program is expected to improve product data lifecycle management resulting in improved quality, improved identification & assessment of implications of requested design changes, reduced cost of engineering concessions, and increased workload flexibility.
The programme must establish the minimum PDLM system standard (consisting of people process and IT technology), pilot and deploy the solution to prioritised areas of the business.
PLM Architect - Key responsibilities:
-Define architectural scope and be able to articulate confidently to all levels (management and technical)
-Conduct existing process and tools assessments
-Propose options for how Technology (IT Systems) and Business Processes may be changed in order to meet objectives, articulating how PLM fits in the wider solution
-To elaborate the key problem scenarios
-To propose high level work schedules to address the objectives ( including Key milestones & timeline, work package structures, required skill sets, cost & pre-requisites
-Clearly define and articulate architectures (for example Technology (IT Systems) and Business Processes, (IT) System Boundaries, System to System interfaces, process flows)
-Ability to architect and design solutions for PLM solutions (Teamcenter or Windchill essential)

Business Requirements, Systems Architecture (Design) Document, Process Diagrams, (Functional) Specification Document, Technical Implementation Documentation, Test Documentation, Operational Documentation

Knowledge
-Knowledge of PLM / PDM systems
-Knowledge of systems engineering philosophy (Requirement Management , V&V etc) and application in an engineering environment.
-Knowledge of change and configuration, BOM and BOM structure
-Knowledge of LEAN fundamentals and their application in an engineering environment an advantage
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
-PLM architecture experience in Product development environment (Aerospace & Defence industry an advantage)
-Experience of PLM architecture in multi-site, multi-national Design and Manufacturing environment
-Architectural experience of Windchill(PTC), Teamcentre(Siemens) or Enovia (Dassault Systemes) essential
-Change and configuration, BOM and BOM structure experience essential
-Expert experience in the use of PLM applications
