We are seeking an Estimator to join our Operations Team with experience of parts manufacture, maintenance and repairs. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment with the ability to assess a specific task and describe this with the resource time required and material cost to create an estimate.

We can teach how to Estimate. What is vital, is an understanding of how something is manufactured or serviced.


Job Description
You will be required to generate Labour and Material Estimates to satisfy internal and external requests which must be approved with a comprehensive Basis of Estimate to stand up to scrutiny from Customers. You could be asked to generate a detailed Bottom Up estimate from a technical drawing or aircraft manual, or equally using one of our Parametric Toolsets, a Top Down view from a high-level Customer requirement.

An ability to assess historical data to drive meaningful Cost Estimating Relationships that can be used to generate and validate new estimates and support the winning of new business opportunities.

As part of the Estimating Team, you will be given the opportunity to have your skills and experienced realised through a nationally recognised ACostE Accreditation in Cost Estimating.

The Successful Candidate
* A passion to improve and help drive improvement and change across the organisation.
* Good standard of education and the ability to present to various levels of the business.
* Experience within a manufacturing or repair and maintenance environment.
* An ability to transpose a technical drawing/maintenance manual into a resource demand and material cost estimate.
* IT skills including use of Microsoft Excel
* The desire to question and understand the reasoning behind technical assumptions. A conviction to stand behind the assumptions you make in the generation of cost estimates.
* The ability to think outside the box and make confident estimating assessments based on previous knowledge and experience.

The Ideal Candidate
* Any knowledge or experience of Additive Layer Manufacture or Design is highly desirable.
* Proven experience of delivering complex cost estimates within the Aerospace Industry.
* Experience of using Parametric Toolsets, E.g., Galorath SEER.
* Working practise of 3-Point Estimating, Uncertainty Analysis, risk generation and Monte-Carlo simulation modelling.
* ACostE Level 3 Accredited or above.
