Job Role:

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain network infrastructure

• Determine network bandwidth needs and recommend measures to meet those requirements

• Conduct network modeling and analysis to construct a reliable, high-performance integrated network

• Direct system installation, upgrade, maintenance and troubleshooting.

• Select and install appropriate data communications components configured to meet the company’s needs

• Configure routers, switches, firewalls.

• Maintain firewall and manage security related to hacking

• Define, document, and enforce system standards

• Design, recommend and implement new solutions to improve the resilience of network operations

• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problems and outages

• Schedule updates and upgrades

• Collaborate with network architects and vendors to optimize system performance

• Engage in data network fault investigations. Working with vendors and services providers.

• Secure network systems with policies that define and monitor access

• Report network operation status based on project management and priority information

• Maintains the highest ethical personal and professional standards.

• Other projects and initiatives as assigned.

Physical Requirements: Primarily office environment. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. At times, must be able to work in aircraft hangar environment and board / exit aircraft. At times, must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and stoop. Must be able to walk particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Must be able to work primarily with fingers such as typing. Must be able to work at heights, subject to noise, subject to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, work on scaffolding, exposure to heat/cold. Must be able to communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in network administration, information technology, or computer science or at least Six years of relevant experience.

• Experience with CheckPoint Firewall, Aurba Wireless, Routing protocols, VLANs, Trunking, Storage Area Network in datacenter, DHCP, VoIP, Forescout CounterACT, Network Security, VPN, PRI, MPLS, Fiber connectivity, WAN monitoring and optimization, SolarWinds; Cisco route and switch, HP switch, PRI, MPLS, SmartNet, Wireshark, BGP.

• Previous experience in IT, security or systems support, or network administrator positions preferred

• Additional certifications preferred, such as

o Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

o CompTIA Network+

• Retain familiarity with various network types including LANs, WANs, WLANs, SANs, and VoIP networks

• Increase job knowledge through continuing education and professional development opportunities, attend conferences, and read professional industry publications

• Open to being on call outside of regular working hours as well as occasional nights and weekends in the office

• Possess analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to perform well under pressure

• Have high attention to detail

• Be a confident communicator

• Work well independently and in team settings

• Must be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a public trust position (if required for the position).

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (if required for the position).

• Must be able to work weekends, other shifts and overtime as required.
