Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Network Engineer 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located at Aberdeen, MD.

Sign-on bonus up to $5,000 may be available to qualified, selected candidates (eligibility restriction may apply). Current Northrop Grumman Corporation employees are not eligible to receive a sign on bonus.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Northrop Grumman is looking for a Network Engineer with progressive experience in network operations and network security technologies. This position will be located in Aberdeen, MD. Position prefers a high degree of technical proficiency and familiarity with software and network security issues as well as systems administration experience. Candidate shall have experiences with Cisco routers and switches, with a good understanding of routing protocols such as RIP, OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP, etc. Role requires experience working with and configuring firewalls and IDS/IDP appliances. Attention to detail and a willingness to document and provide status of projects is a must. Candidate is required to interface with customer and must be able to work independently and on multiple projects/activities concurrently and recommend future direction or projects to management. A strong network engineering background and clear understanding of network configurations and topologies. Windows/UNIX scripting. Firewall IDS/IPS experience. Solid knowledge of MS Visio. Available for occasional after hours work.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.



Qualifications

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:
* 2+ years of experience with network engineering with clear understanding of network configurations and topologies
* Experience working with firewalls and IDS/IDP
* Experience working with Cisco devices
* Available for occasional after-hours support

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:
* 5+ years of experience with network engineering with clear understanding of network configurations and topologies
* Experience working with firewalls and IDS/IDP
* Experience working with Cisco devices
* Available for occasional after-hours support

Preferred Qualifications:
* In-depth knowledge of Cisco Routers and switches and routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP, etc)
* Current CCNA
* Windows/UNIX scripting
* Solid knowledge of MS Visio

Education:
Bachelors Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional network engineering or systems engineer/admin experience on projects with similar environments may be substituted for a bachelors degree.
