Scope

As an Inspector of components within an established aeronautical engineering company your role will be to establish compliance and serviceability to within approved source substantiated data. Your also responsible for ensuring the conformity of product through the estimate process and at final inspection. This will include dimensional inspections of both sub-contracted and in-house manufactured parts, assemblies in accordance with associated technical specifications. In addition to conducting inspection in line with inspection sheet criterion, applicable engineering drawings, standards and purchase orders; you will be collaborating and analysing with the supplier in the resolution of any issues and non-conformances and ensuring that calibration and maintenance is carried out on inspection equipment.

Key skills:

  • Experience in a range of manual inspection techniques using Micrometre and Vernier type measuring equipment.
  • Play an active part within the team and contribute to the business objectives and continuous improvement philosophies and opportunities.
  • Ensure documentation/routings are completed accurately and processed correctly in a timely manner.
  • Work in accordance with HSE legislation, the Company Operating Systems, policies and procedures.

Desirable Skills:

  • Have experience of being an Approved release signatory within an Aeronautical engineering environment.
  • Ability to be flexible on a day to day basis.
  • Be available to travel both in the UK and overseas from time to time, dependent on business requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Recognised Engineering/Aeronautical Apprenticeship.
  • Knowledge of engineering processes and quality principles/compliances.
  • PC literate.
