Mechanical Engineering Co-op

Greenville Metals is a unique metallurgical resource in the management of nickel and cobalt base super-alloys. The company transforms revert, through many techniques including electric arc furnace, AOD, and induction furnaces, into forms including ingots, pigs, and shot. Greenville Metals provides customers with a range of tailored revert management services designed to enable them to optimize the use and value of their own revert material.

The company is also in the business of powder manufacturing for the automotive industry utilizing various crushing, grinding and sizing equipment.

Job Definition and Purpose:

The Mechanical Engineering Co-op will complete drafting projects in AutoCAD, perform field investigations, and review equipment in process, as well as assist with various other engineering projects. Potential full time workload over the summer of 2018 with the possibility of continued part time work thereafter.

Required Skills and Experiences Include:

•Demonstrated experience and knowledge of AutoCAD.
•Minimum of two years post-secondary education in an engineering field or equivalent work experience.
•Good working knowledge of all MS Office applications and internet applications.
•Ability to work under minimal supervision and use own initiative.
•Well organized, analytical and detail oriented.
•Previous manufacturing and/or drafting experience a plus.

Must be able to frequently remain in a stationary position with repetitive hand motions. Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer, copy machine, calculator and computer printer. Must be able to visit the manufacturing facility and occasionally be required to reach overhead, bend/stoop, push/pull, twist, stand, walk, perform repetitive hand movements, and/or lift and/or carry up to 35lbs. Must be able to don appropriate personal protective equipment including but not limited to, metatarsal shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, hearing protection.
