Join us as a Mechanical Wayside Engineer and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
As a Mechanical Wayside Engineer, you will work with Engineers, Suppliers, Consultants, Contractors and others to design or scope effective interfaces and design criteria for wayside items comprising Transit Systems in Proposals, Projects and Operations and Maintenance (O&M).
Your responsibilities will include:

Lead system level and detailed design reviews and provide leadership for sub-system design reviews to ensure that all requirements have been met.

Work within the wayside and project teams to prepare bids, proposals, design drawings, design specifications and design criteria.

Prepare scope, drawings and details, design calculations, reference material such that baseline designs and interfaces are established and maintained.

Establish working relationships and interface with client, client’s staff and their technical representatives and with internal and external project engineers and project managers.

Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Travel 10-15% domestically and/or internationally.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 5 years of experience in mechanical or civil engineering in the transit industry, OR Master’s degree in Engineering with 3 years of experience in mechanical or civil engineering in the transit industry.
- Experience with PLC programming, and FEA design and analysis.
- Experience utilizing AutoCAD and 3D modeling tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Civil Engineering Technology.
- Experience with machine design (PLCs).
