As a result of our success in attracting new business to support our ambitious growth plans, Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing UK Ltd are looking to appoint a Mechanical Assembly Technician who is looking to join a progressive industry leader.

 

As an integral part of the assembly build team the Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly of various mechanical products. The key responsibilities include:

 

  • Assemble, and inspection of various mechanical products and final unit instruments using the correct tools, documentation and procedures.
  • Compliance with production processes and procedures, production schedules and recording standards using business IT systems (i.e. ERP/MRP).
  • Ensure finished products conform to quality standards to enable progression to inspection and release process.
  • Demonstrates personal behaviours that underpin and support a safe working environment. 

 

The Technician requires experience of working in a high-volume manufacturing environment with an understanding and ability to follow written instructions, including schematic drawings, specifications, work orders and engineering documentation.

 

All successful Assembly Technician’s will be able to demonstrate:

  • Understanding and willingness to participate lean methodologies and continuous improvement processes.
  • Able to work to deadlines and meet performance targets.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to demonstrate dexterity and hand to eye coordination.  
  • Effective communicator (verbal and written) and PC literate – competent in the use of MS Office applications and databases.
  • Numerate and Literate – attainment of academic or vocational passes in English and Maths at NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) or able to demonstrate necessary standard through job related assessment.
  • Able to calculate the tolerances within drawings.
  1. Imperial to metric conversions

  2. Decimal to fraction conversions

  3. Basic mathematical calculations (addition/subtraction etc.)

 

As part of the selection process you may be invited to attend an assessment centre involving both practical exercises and verbal interview.
