Sargent Aerospace & Defense products are found on many major Commercial and Military aircraft in operation worldwide. Products and systems include hydraulic actuation and valve systems, locking actuators, steering metering control valves, fuse pins, hot forged bolts, pneumatic ducting and valve seals, tubing system alignment joints, engine hot section and structural components, airframe components, shock strut bearings, Teflon lined spherical bearings and broad component maintenance, overhaul, spares logistics and power-by-the-hour support services. Sargent is also a major supplier of hydraulic control valves to the US Navy on all Nuclear Class Submarine programs. Sargent has an immediate opening for a M.E.T. Engineering.

Purpose & Scope:

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Company training program and gain exposure to all areas of the organization, including manufacturing, engineering, quality, purchasing, and sales. The individual may travel to our Corporate Office in Connecticut or one or two of our other facilities for training.

Essential Responsibilities:

* Provide drafting support to staff engineers the design/production for new and current capability units.
* Provide research on various projects.
* Provide research and data collecting on equivalency reports.
* Research aircraft and component CMM’s (Component maintenance manuals)
* Provide direct support to the engineering department which would include interfacing with shops and other personnel.
* Tooling drafting experience a plus.
* Follow all safety and company policies.

Required Experience and Skills:

* Minimum 3.5 years completion of Mechanical Engineering education.
* Capable of drafting in Autodesk Inventor software.
* Able to use Microsoft Office software tools.
* Able to use industry standard measuring devices.
* Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
* Capable of effective problem resolution and process improvements.

ITAR Requirement:

Due to ITAR regulations, this position requires that the employee must be a U.S. Citizen.

Quality Requirement:

Employees will participate in understanding, implementing and maintaining the Company Quality Policy in accordance with AS-9100C and/or ISO-9001:2008 requirements.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

The employee will be required to move throughout the building to collect, handle and process production parts.
