Crane Aerospace & Electronics has a unique and exciting career opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer II in Redmond, WA.

Manufacturing Engineer II Job Duties:

* Monitor material performance and evaluate material deterioration.

* Design, direct and document testing to evaluate materials, components and processes.

* Evaluate technical specifications and economic factors relating to process or product design objectives.

* Conduct or supervise tests on raw materials or finished products to ensure their quality.

* Review new product plans and make recommendations for material selection based on design objectives, such as mechanical strength, weight electrical conductivity, cost and environmental resistance (corrosion, flammability, heat, fungus and chemicals).

* Analyze product failure data and laboratory test results to determine root causes of problems and develop solutions.

* Find, evaluate and implement replacements for obsolete materials.

* Generate materials related analyses and reports to support product qualification (such as flammability, fungus resistance, chemical resistance, hazardous or restricted materials content, etc.).

* Create technical reports and generate engineering specifications for materials and processes.

Knowledge and Experience:

* Bachelor degree in Engineering (preferably material science)

* 2+ years of relevant work experience.

* Strong Statistics / Analysis / Problem Solving skills.

* Experience using computer databases.

* Self-motivated / Ability to prioritize / Strong time management skills.

* Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of the organization.

* Ability to present technical material to customers.

* Aerospace or military materials engineering experience.

* Experience with chemicals used in high tech processing such as cleaning solvents, varnishes, epoxies, and solder.

* Experience with processes involved in electronics manufacturing.

* Failure analysis methods (cross-section, microscopy, X-ray, SEM, EDX, FTIR).

* Plating and metal finishing methods.

* Polymeric materials and processes (coating, bonding, encapsulation, molding).

* Principles of scientific investigation.

* Statistics and design of experiments.

* Chemical properties of materials.

* Military and industry standards.

* Hazardous chemical regulations.

* Analytical control methods for cleaning, coating, bonding and metal finishing processes.

Eligibility Requirement :

* Must be a US Person or permanent resident under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) to be eligible.
