About Your Job

In this position as Manager Technical Warehouse you will be responsible for Warehouse operations and management within Qatar Airways Technical Department in order to support Qatar Airways fleet and the contracted customer’s fleets requirements for aircrafts spares, while ensuring compliance with Qatar Airways and Civil Aviation Authorities (QCAA/EASA/FAR/IATA/OEM) or any other applicable government agency’s rules and regulations.

Your accountabilities will include the following but not be limited to: 

Strategic

  • Determine the future near-term and mid-term requirements and develop plans to comply with those requirements.
  • Determine budget requirements for Technical Stores and assist in the completion of budget submittal for each financial year.
  • Identify and implement new techniques and methodologies for efficient and effective warehouse layout, space and resource utilization
  • Identify and implement latest state-of-the-art technologies and ensure the cost of running Technical Stores operations are kept to minimum.
Operational
  • Manage and ensure smooth running of Technical Stores on 24-hour 7-day basis and ensure continuous material support to operations.
  • Ensure serviceability of all equipment needed to deliver the agreed service levels.
  • Manage the entire Technical Stores related activities relating to store keeping, spares handling, issuance and receipt, handling techniques, spares segregation, storage condition, packaging, shelf life control, calibration control, data integrity, stock integrity, health and safety.
  • Develop and implement procedures and processes related to safe custody and secure movement of all spare parts at all times.
  • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation accordingly.
  • Ensure full compliance of procedures and processes with Qatar Airways and Civil Aviation Authorities (QCAA/EASA/FAR/IATA/OEM) or any other applicable government agency’s requirements, rules and regulations.
  • Oversee the stock level inventory accuracy in all store locations. Develop and manage implementation of procedures, processes (e.g. Technical Procedures Manual, SCOM, etc.) and technologies (e.g. RFIS, bar coding) to achieve high accuracy levels.
  • Monitor and implement quality control processes in each area of Technical Stores and develop culture of discipline and strict compliance with procedures. Introduce 5S and lean methodologies in production, as applicable.
  • Responsible to manage internal and external auditors during the audits. Ensure all findings are addressed in a timely and effective manner. Maintain level-2 findings to absolute minimum and prevent any repetition.
  • Identify and investigate any lost material. Determine the root cause and implement preventative measures.

 

About You
You will hold a Bachelors degree in Business, Logistics, and/or Engineering or the equivalent. A Masters in Science or Engineering (Preferably Industrial Engineering) or Business Administration or Logistics with emphasis in Supply Chain Management is desirable. Green belt qualification is Six Sigma is an added advantage.

You will have 8 years experience with at least 5 years in leading Airline/MRO Technical Warehouse or Engineering Management of a large organization. You will have extensive knowledge of airline inventory and warehouse management and related EASA and FAA regulations . You should have strong experience working in Technical Stores Environment and will have a proven track record of leading multiple teams and familiar with lean principles.
