Job Summary

This role will directly manage a team that provides IT support for Collins Aerospace labs. Our labs serve as a workspace for a variety of engineering activities. The client landscape includes a variety of current and legacy technology including; Windows, Red Hat, Ubuntu, Solaris systems and accompanying hardware. Lab systems adhere to strict Government regulations and team members must operate in accordance with Corporate policies. Team member work assignments may include:

* Software & hardware support

* Systems maintenance

* Systems upgrades

* Technical implementation reviews with customer and peers

* Knowledge documentation & review

* Identify gaps in process and propose ideas to improve efficiency

* Infrastructure support of small / local environments

* Coordinating cross-functional work activities with peer groups

* Customer communications in regards to systems outages and maintenance activities

Job Responsibilities

* Plans / schedules large scale service requests with customer

* Manages priority for day to day tasks of team

* Accountable for Lab ticket SLA achievement

* Maintains lab hardware standards

* Maintains lab request catalog

* Maintains lab hardware life cycle – plans annual upgrades with customer (during year prior AOP)

* Maintains security standards in labs per ISSM

* Forecast resource demand / actuals – weekly (target is to staff appropriately to hit SLA)

* Resource planning

* Shares the responsibility for Systems Administration activities and personnel. May be responsible for staff and systems deployed regionally and internationally.

* Assists with the coordination of electronic systems activities within the company.

* Interacts with internal systems users.

* Provides inputs to policy makers regarding system standards, budget constraints and future needs planning.

* Assists with analyzing vendor products, researching and staying current on industry trends.

* Makes recommendations on appropriate hardware and/or software purchases and assists with coordinating the installation and rollout.

* Tracks vendor performance to ensure contractual commitments are maintained.

* Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget constraints.

* Makes recommendations to ensure policies and standards for allocation of equipment and resources are developed and maintained.

* Ensures the businesses needs are met by systems solutions. Responsible for running sophisticated maintenance routines, advanced software upgrades and complex networks.

* Responsible for workforce planning to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Supervise staffing, development, performance management/evaluation, diversity, health/safety, and employee relations. Leads a technical team and provides technical guidance to the team.

Basic Qualifications

* Government Security Clearance is a nice to have but not required. Candidate should have at least 5+ years med/large enterprise experience in at least 3 of the following:

* Client computer hardware support

* Customer service

* Windows (XP or newer OS)

* IT Project Execution

* IT Project resource planning

* Financial responsibility ($100k or more)

* Direct report supervision
