General responsibilities of the position: Development of long-range business objectives and strategic plans by identifying internal and external strategic issues that could affect growth and profitability. Analysis of environment for business opportunities and surveillance of the market. Evaluation and review of major marketing, distribution, and manufacturing proposals. Financial analysis of acquisition candidates.
Typical Roles/Area of Focus:
Incumbent’s responsibilities will generally focus on one or more of the following:
· Mergers and Acquisitions Market Forecast & trend analysis
· Competitive Intelligence
· Other Strategic Planning

Level of Responsibility:
· Manage the strategic planning process for the turboshaft / helicopter segment
Responsible for entire projects with significant scope and complexity
· Contributes to the department or business unit by applying their advanced knowledge of one or more functional areas
· May develop and coach others
· Has expert knowledge that extends across multiple disciplines

Specific responsibilities of position: • Develop the civil and military helicopter segment market forecast.
• Identify new business opportunities and develop business plans to convert these opportunities into incremental sales
• Develop a good understanding of the turboshaft market segment and act as the domain subject-matter expert within UTC and knowledge of government regulations, ITC requirements and UTC Code of Ethics
• Lead new product/service proposal efforts and is responsible for contract negotiations
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships and develop a trusted advisor relationship with internal customers
• Co-ordinate and work closely with Marketing, Engineering, Operations, Customer Service, Quality, Finance, and other internal organizations on customer focused issues/events
• Ensure the timely and successful delivery of strategic planning objectives to senior leadership our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
• Forecast and track key account metrics. Follow-up on any necessary corrective actions.

Qualifications required: • Bachelor degree with 6 to 10 years experience
• Master degree with 4 to 7 years experience
• Knowledge of helicopter industry through diverse job experience
• Possesses a wide network of customers and influencers
• Is strong in building and maintaining relationship with key stakeholders
• Adapts well to local culture and diversity of thoughts
• Communicates effectively with all levels of management including executives and able to present complex information to various audience
• Has developed a deep knowledge of the aviation industry through diverse job experiences
• Demonstrates a high level of curiosity to identify and understand create new business opportunities in untapped areas
• Has a strategic mindset with strong influential leadership
• Strong sales & negotiation skills and able to navigate in ambiguity
• Strong analytical capabilities and business acumen with the ability to look at data differently and in expanded ways to drive new thinking
• Sufficient general knowledge of aviation products and technologies to be effective in program level discussions
• Flexible, resilient and resourceful to adapt to a constantly changing and high pressure environment
• Result-driven, demonstrated ability to plan, organize and manage resources to meet objectives within defined time frames
• Demonstrated ability to think independently and proactively implement effective and innovative solutions to promote thought-provoking ideas and foster creative thinking
