Job Description
The Manager of Aircraft Acquisitions/Returns is responsible for coordinating the aircraft acquisition and return process to include technical requirements and documentation. Responsibility includes the bridging of aircraft into the Sun Country Maintenance Program and cost effectively returning aircraft as dictated by Company objectives.
Required Skills
* Thoroughly understand stated aircraft delivery and return conditions to maximize ROI
* Coordinate aircraft survey and delivery activities to include MRO check representation and aircraft inspection
* Formulate, organize and monitor aircraft acquisition/return process to include aircraft modifications required prior to entry in-service, lead time requirements and in-service estimate
* Define suitable strategies including expertise/labor requirements to achieve company objectives
* Lead and evaluate Departmental staff as well as third party vendors
* Develop and control budget, activities, and deadlines
* Assume overall responsibility for final maintenance bridging/accomplishment documents as well as Aircraft setup in TRAX
* Assure that Company technical manuals are updated to reflect inducted aircraft
* Coordinate any follow on modifications not accomplished prior to entry in-service
* Prepare progress reports and gantt charts as required
* Any other duties assigned by the Director of Engineering
* Up to 10% travel required
Required Experience
* Must have authorization to work in the United States and be able to travel to destinations served
* Must have Supervisory / Management experience
* Strong oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Demonstrates strong leadership skills both in direct people management and in cross-functional teams
* Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously
* Qualified candidate must pass a criminal history background check as well as a pre-employment drug test
* B.S. degree
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in large transport category aircraft maintenance including aircraft acquisitions/returns or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Demonstrated leadership ability
* Demonstrated understanding of aircraft acquisition/return process to include CFR requirements
* Ability to perform independently and deliver results
* Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving skills
* Sound judgment and decision making skills
* Ability to exercise discretion with sensitive and confidential information
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with others in a professional manner
* Proficient with Microsoft applications: with emphasis on Excel, Word, Outlook and SharePoint
