About Your Job

In this role you will be responsible to manage the maintenance of all Ground Support Equipment (GSE), used by various operating departments of Qatar Aviation Services and other customers, in order to meet their operational requirements by providing safe and reliable fleet at Hamad International Airport (HIA).  

Furthermore have overall responsibility for the development of strategies and concepts associated with Workshop management and also implement & manage the strategic maintenance program based on industry best practices, with an emphasis on preventative and predictive Maintenance.

You will also be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Lead, plan, organize, direct and control all aspects of GSE Workshop daily operations and outputs.
  • Ensure that teams are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely manner delivering high quality and cost-effective service. 
  • Review the operation/performance/reliability of assets maintained constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, pro-actively anticipate problems, and ensure safe operation and identify opportunities for improvement and unit cost reduction.
  • Implement best practices and efficient/cost-effective operations that support airside operations.
  • Facilitate effective decision-making; provide accurate and timely reporting and produce KPIs that focus on delivering business needs and optimize outputs.
  • Organize plan and deliver a preventive maintenance program of all equipment and vehicles in order to maintain the highest standards of equipment and vehicle performance.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement measures across all functional areas of the Workshop.
  • Ensure that high engineering standards are maintained through robust and effective internal assurance mechanisms such as out inspections and spot checks on quality of work by technicians.
  • Maintain the very highest of standards of workshop cleanliness, organization and safety through personal leadership and intervention.
About You

To be eligible for this role you must be hold a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent and have at least 8 years managing a GSE Workshop in Ground Handling. 

Have strong knowledge of Airside Operations, GSE Equipment and trouble shooting.

You will need to have strong skills in English communication, planning and organising. You will have  proven management, leadership skills and ability to engage, inspire people and be a change agent, results oriented who can deliver innovative execution at pace.
