Job Summary

Manages the ongoing maintenance and planning at a site. Supervises employees and/or contractors who construct, maintain and repair utilities systems, buildings and equipment. Manages the maintenance and repair of plant equipment, building and grounds.

Provide input to Facilities Manager for strategic planning and expansion plans and participate on the definition of the metrics for the maintenance department.

*

Daily meetings with direct reports to strengthen confidence and sense of continuous improvement.

*

Position will encompass some weekend coverage duties

*

Take and active role in developing and/or executing a successful safety program

Job Responsibilities

*

Coordinate maintenance supervisors, technicians and janitorial employees and/or building trade contractors who construct, maintain, and repair systems, buildings and equipment.

*

Oversee contractors and professionals working in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air-conditioning, heating, painting, and general maintenance trades. Coordinates furnishing, electrical, heating/cooling, and other contractors or suppliers to ensure the facility is set up to enterprise standards.

Sets priorities and forecasts to allocate limited resources to complete all necessary preventive and corrective maintenance at the site.

Manages the maintenance of manufacturing equipment and repair of plant equipment, building and grounds

*

Designs and develops organizational policies relevant to the facilities department.

*

Leads a team of professional engineers and/or project managers, and leads maintenance staff.

*

Assigns projects and tasks to team; Identifies and develops leadership within the team. Selects, develops and manages the performance of the team members.

Foster personal and professional development of team, including self

*

May have responsibility for environmental, health and safety policies and procedures at the site. Ensures workplace training and safety plans are fully implemented. Ensures the area complies with OSHA, EPA and other safety and health requirements.

*

Coordinate all internal and external layouts changes with all departments involved, providing cost and execution dates.

*

Control and authorizes vacations of maintenance personnel without impacting operations & facilities services plans.

*

Analyzes and authorizes the first level of purchase requisitions that are assigned to the maintenance department.

*

Responsible to maintain and create maintenance documentation such as methods, procedures, instructions, etc.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree six years of related experience
