Job Role:
Bachelor Degree in related discipline with 8 years working experience in Air Cargo Operations of which 3 years’ in a similar or in a supervisory position, preferably with prior experience in setting up a new Mechanized Cargo Terminal at a new Airport.
Master’s degree in the related discipline will be advantage - Special Skills & Knowledge:1 Ensure that Air Cargo handling operations are in compliance with government and airlines health, safety and security rules and regulations.
2 Identify shortfalls in cargo handling process / procedures and implement new procedures to address the shortfalls
3 Identify cost effective infrastructure solutions to improve cargo operations.
4 Ensure that the Airline’s Service Standards/ procedures are complied with.
5 Ensure that the staff’s job performances are properly evaluated and deserving staffs are duly rewarded.
6 Ensure that Departments assets and resources are properly utilized for the overall benefit of the entire organization.
7 Provides good customer service to airlines and other clients by ensuring that their requirements, enquiries and complaints are attended to and issues / complaints resolved expeditiously.
8 Investigate cargo irregularities/mishandlings and ensure new work process / procedures are implemented to prevent recurrence of incidents.
9 Conduct regular weekly/monthly meetings with airline clients to review and resolve operations issue.
10 Monitor all operation activities on daily basis to ensure compliance to procedure for smooth and efficient handling.
11 Ensure company records of Export Cargo Operations are properly and correctly maintained.
12 Ensure smooth, efficient functioning of the Transit Cargo Handling activities.
13 Conduct daily checks to ensure activities of within the sections such as acceptance, cash handling, x-ray, storage, checking/build-up, documentation/manifesting etc are performed smoothly and efficiently.
14 Conduct random checks to ensure export build of ULDs /bulk cargo is performed correctly.
15 Monitor the handling of cargo requiring special handling (i.e. perishables, pharmaceutical shipment newspapers, diplomatic mail, valuable and vulnerable cargo and other urgent cargo) and ensure that staff concerned gives priority to such cargo.
16 Conduct spot checks to ensure on the various special cargo registers located in the special storage areas maintained and inventories tally.
17 Conduct regular inspection round, ensuring that all operational equipments are in good and serviceable conditions, take remedial measures to make the equipment serviceable.
18 Ensure and monitor staff in-charge for loading/manifesting is performed correctly as per airline requirement/load plan, documents are sent to flight on time and UWS is sent to load control accurately and within precision time.
19 Ensure the outgoing flight is handled according to precision timing of the airline and aircraft type.
20 Conduct weekly/monthly meetings with shift Officers/Supervisors, acceptance, manifesting, CTU and Warehouse staff and review any day to day operational problems or difficulties. Visit the sections and identify any problems and resolve them.
21 Meet all Officers/Supervisors to ensure that job allocation of each unit/section are all accounted for to ensure a smooth flow of work activities during that shift.
22 Report to Head Of Operations and keep him advised of day to day operational matters and resolve under his guidance.
23 Report for duties outside normal working hours especially any special handling or delicate goods for Diwan Palace office etc., whenever required.
24 Check staff attendance, appearance, performance and maintain staff discipline in liaison with Cargo Admin.
25 Prepare annual performance appraisal for all direct reporters towards continuous improvement of talent.
26 Gather customer feedback regularly, resolve the issues and keep up the customer service standards. Liaise with other airport agencies – ROP Customs, Quarantine authorities, ROP Security etc. Whenever required.
27 Review current cargo handling procedures with the objective of improving the procedures.
28 Plan and introduce work improvement methods by conducting work studies on work processes.
29 Analyze the data collected and propose ways to improve the work processes and improve staff and resource utilization.
