Based at our Head Office in Melbourne, we are seeking an Engineering Investigations Manager, Learning and Promotion to primarily focus on managing all investigations including maintenance error and the review and acceptance of MEI’s/MEDA’s from external suppliers including CASR Part 145 AMO’s. This role is essential to the safe and compliant operation of JANZ Engineering. It manages all the investigations within the business and ensures the relevant lessons learnt are extracted and leveraged from each event or near miss.

Reporting into the Senior Manager Safety, Quality and Compliance, your main accountabilities will include:

* Management of the Jetstar CAMO investigations and resources

* Constantly reviewing events from across the industry and communicating relevant information

* promote relationships with regulatory bodies, other airlines, manufacturers and suppliers and other organisations to share safety, quality and compliance information and promote learning

* use all available means to communicate lessons learnt and promote organisational learning

* Drive business/process improvement and initiatives across the department

* Liaise with CASA, other authorities and stakeholders in relation to investigations and the associated outcomes

* Manage, guide, develop and support the investigations team

* Investigate and review incidents and OSCAR reports, and assist in implementation of corrective action

* Liaise with AMO’s, MRO’s and OEM’s in relation to incidences and investigations to achieve a satisfactory outcome for JANZ CAMO

* Liaise with JANZ External Maintenance in the management of corrective actions for AMO’s and MRO’s investigation in a timely manner

* Encourage and promote in achieving a safe and healthy workplace

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

* LAME qualification or Professional Engineer qualification required, a tertiary qualification in Aviation/Engineering/ Management desirable

* Lead investigator trained required

* Process driven, with experience in constructing new processes to deliver business goals required

* Experience in process improvement (ie. Lean and Six Sigma) desirable

* Detailed understanding of aviation legislation required

* Highly level of motivation and commitment to continuous improvement required.

* Experience in carrying out investigations in a highly regulated industry required
