About Your Job
The Manager Cargo Commercial (Trucking) Planning is responsible to manage all aspects of the trucking solutions purchased or used by Qatar Airways Cargo (QR Cargo) from the operational requirements to the monitoring the Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). You will regularly update the senior management on all trucking related issues and highlight and steers the policy and strategy of Qatar Airways related to trucking services. You will be responsible to adequately provide the network with quality trucking solutions either through unified or individual supplies to feed/de-feed QR network passenger and freighter flights.
Accountabilities:
- Manage the definition and improvement of IT related trucking processes, including aspects such as reservations, truck availability and better predictive costing of trucking solutions.
- Define and develop all aspects of reporting related to trucking performance.
- Define Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on trucking schedule communication structure to support operational requirements of the department.
- Conduct feasibility study with detailed business case on the set up of local GCC RFS network.
- Initiate and lead key projects such as centralising all trucking related invoices with automated reconciliation of usage of services in headquarters in order to monitor and manage operational cost.
- Develop policies and service level agreements for implementation of trucking solutions across the QR network requirement areas.
- Lead the technical tender process during assessment/selection of new trucking providers.
- Support relationship steering between regions and service providers.
- Support network operations with ensuring trucking capability to manage ULD controls and balance.
- Monitor results and trends on trucking performance and discrepancies across the network.
- Proactive leadership to scope and source trucking providers for new QR destinations.
- Review and analyse trucking performance and cargo profitability to deliver best cost performance of overall trucking portfolio.
- Identify opportunities to optimise and expand trucking network to capture additional sales.
- Monitor compliance of trucking providers with set safety, security and regulatory requirements.
About You
To be successful, you will have a minimum Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent thereof, with a minimum of 8 years of Cargo Logistics management experience, within a trucking function. You will ideally come from an Airline Cargo or Freight Forwarder background.
You will have expert level knowledge of ULD management, Cargo industry standards, Ground Handling, General Sales, and Interline Agreements.
You will be a strong communicator, negotiator, and have effective leadership capabilities to manage and influence a team to perform at high standards at all times.
