Overview:

Under direction of supervisor or coordinator, perform technical analysis of industrial machine tools, equipment, and processes to develop improved maintenance methods, servicing and testing procedures, and techniques to minimize machine down time and impact on production operations and schedules.

Responsibilities:

• Provide troubleshooting and repair on PLC systems. • Work with industrial production equipment such as CNC milling machines and auto fastener machines. • Use test equipment such as multi-meters and Oscilloscopes • Perform a variety of duties to put into operation, build-up, maintain, overhaul, modify and repair mechanically any type hydraulic, mechanical, gaseous, vacuum type, pneumatic and electronically and numerically controlled factory machine tools and equipment. • Locate and diagnose sources of trouble; dismantle and repair or replace broken, worn or faulty parts and reassemble. • Assist in instructing maintenance technicians in area of specialization such as mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic systems and practical application of test procedures and instrumentation in the troubleshooting and repair of equipment malfunctions. • May be assigned to work with Facilities Engineering and vendor personnel on technical problems of initial set-up and operation of new machines and equipment. • Maintain operational logs and service records of equipment. Bring to the attention of the supervisor all malfunctions, defects, and damages of equipment, material and product. Perform minor design related to equipment modification. • May be required to prepare spare part listings equipment. Prepare preventive maintenance procedures and schedules. Adhere to all applicable safety and operations procedures and directives. • Lifting, standing, walking, bending, climbing, carrying, grasping, holding, pushing and pulling are generally required to perform the functions of this position. • Will use shop math to interpret and work from wiring diagram schematics, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic schematics, manufacturing blueprints, and logic drawings, specifications, manuals, operation and work sheet verbal instructions.

Candidate will have a High School Diploma or Accredited GED plus 5 years of related experience. Prefer vocational or similar training. Prefer candidate to have Schmidt machine experience. Prefer experience in the repair and service of a variety of conventional & numerically controlled machine tools and industrial equipment in areas such as mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic systems, and practical application of test procedures and instrumentation in the troubleshooting and repair of equipment malfunctions.
