Job Role:

Maintenance Technician (HGV Mechanic)

North Air is responsible for providing into-plane services and fuel storage/hydrant operations on behalf of oil companies, joint venture companies and airport authorities. We operate at 20 locations across the UK, where we carry out approximately 300 000 fuelling’s per year. We aim to provide safe, reliable and efficient into-plane services and fuel storage operations, to our customers’ satisfaction.

North Air places significant emphasis on attracting and employing people who are able to demonstrate a commitment to Safety, Working Together, Integrity, Encourage and Respect, our Core Values which are key to the success of North Air in providing Fuelling Excellence.

We are recruiting an HGV Mechanic (Maintenance Technician) to maintain their fleet of aircraft refuelling vehicles.

You will be part of a team responsible for planned and non-planned maintenance for a fleet of thirty 35,000 – 45,000 ltr refuelling vehicles. There may also be opportunity to work on new vehicle commissioning including factory inspection visits, which may be overseas.

The role can be based at either our Glasgow or Edinburgh Airport workshop with a requirement to support both sites equally and also maintain vehicles at our Prestwick facility; therefore regular travel is expected from the successful candidate.

Hours of work are an average of 37.5 per week Monday to Friday but with the potential to move to a more flexible working pattern; to support the increasing workload and airport expansion in the future. This may involve working at weekends where a shift allowance may be payable.

The successful candidate will need to be a time served Truck Mechanic (HGV mechanic), a strong team player, have strong organisational skills and be able to work on their own initiative, working to strict deadlines and task objectives, with limited supervision. Ideally the successful candidate will hold a C+E License, but this is not essential.

As this role involves some airside working, a CRB check and checkable work history, is essential as part of the airside pass application process.
