The Elyria site (Lear Romec Brand) offers the most reliable positive displacement and centrifugal pumps in the industry. Positive displacement pumps include vane, gerotor, and spur gear technology while a centrifugal pump can include one of a multitude of different impeller options. These pumps handle the oil, fuel, coolant, or water delivery for the general aviation, business jet, small/large commercial aircraft, and military markets.

We need a talented individual in our Fluid Management Group at our Northeast Ohio facility to fill the role of a Maintenance Electro-Mechanical Operator. This position is on 2nd shift (3:30pm-11pm). The Maintenance Electro-Mechanical Operator position performs repair and maintenance work on electronic control equipment and apparatus as associated with automated machine tools, such as NC/CNC and all other state of the art related type of equipment, servo-mechanism, etc., of complex and involved design requiring broad technical knowledge of electro-mechanical principles and equipment design plus specialized skills and techniques.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

* Perform all factory maintenance and service work including carpenter, electrician, millwright, plumbing, tool welding, and painting.
* Perform repair and maintenance work on various machines, tools, and equipment of complex design requiring broad technical knowledge of electro- mechanical principles and equipment design plus specialized skills and techniques.
* Use special testing instruments such as oscilloscopes, voltmeter, and electronic equipment to test circuitry and components.
* Work from complicated schematic diagrams, drawings and specifications involving complex circuitry together with machine design drawings.
* Attend schools conducted by equipment manufactures to learn specific equipment repair procedures when required.
* Perform maintenance helper tasks as necessary without the use of temporary transfers.
* Keep charts and records as required on completed sequences and processes.
* Perform appropriate safety checks in the cell.
* Complete all required paperwork/documentation.
* Work with internal and external customers and suppliers and participate in continuous improvement activities as required.
* Perform other duties as assigned by department supervisor.
* Utilize computer to access various databases.

Minimum Requirements:

* High School Diploma;

* Have knowledge of 480/240 Volt/3 phase systems, along with at least a basic understanding of PLC’s, NEC codes, conduit bending, motor and controls, hydraulic and pneumatics, troubleshooting methods and lock out tag out rules.

* Previous Maintenance and service work experience including carpenter, electrician, millwright, plumbing, tool welding, and painting;

* Must have successfully completed Maintenance Trainee occupation (internal applicants only).

* Requires basic math skills to make necessary calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing;

* Must be able to read and interpret schematic designs, blueprints, detail sheets, manufacturing outlines, and written instructions.

Physical Demands

* Must be able to climb ladders up to 35 feet;
* Must be able to work at elevated heights up to 35 feet;
* Must be able to lift and move heavy objects and equipment, material handling devices can be used for heavier objects.

Work Environment

* Manufacturing shop floor environment;
* Greasy, oil environment;
* Occasional solvent vapors and dust;
* May be required to occasionally wear half face piece respirator.
