Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor works as a part of an integrated HAECO team and is responsible for all activities at a specific line location. The Maintenance Supervisor supervises assigned employees, works to develop, inform, coach and mentor employees and addresses concerns. This position keeps the Regional Manager updated on the location’s activities and assists with the billing process. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible to maintain a positive, supportive relationship with the customer at the local level as well as assist with developing relationships, liaising and indentifying potential growth customers at the local level.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

1. Supervises and directs activities of all personnel assigned assuring all maintenance is completed in compliance with established company policies, procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines (FAA, EPA and OSHA). Prioritize and assign work with the assistance of Lead Mechanics, ensuring milestones and deliveries are met; resolve employee issues and complaints by working with appropriate management staff and being receptive to employees.
2. Assists with HR related duties for assigned area including:
1. Interviewing internal and external job applicants
2. Conducting performance coaching, evaluations and disciplinary actions
3. Monitoring attendance records
4. Scheduling employees to meet aircraft work requirements
5. Provide clear communication to employees regarding work

3. Promotes a culture of safety by ensuring work is performed within HAECO safety guidelines
4. Performs a daily area inspection to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
5. Prioritizes all work to be accomplished during a specific shift for assigned area and forecasting for the next 48 hours and ensures employees are qualified for the work they perform and develop employee technical skills as needed.
6. Plans and reviews with Regional Manager accomplishments on the Regional planned vs. actual for each previous shift as well as the upcoming planned 24-hour period
7. Obtains customer approval on original, additional and/or revised estimates to accomplish maintenance on customer’s aircraft and components and manage with assistance from the Regional Manager
8. Updates Regional Manager daily of the following:
1. Planned man-hours on the aircraft that day
2. Man-hours expended on previous day plan VS actual and variance
3. Percentage of routine and non-routine items open and completed
4. Areas that may affect the release date of the aircraft to include parts, engineering and lengthy elapsed time work orders
5. All items which exceed or are approaching their estimates

9. Assists Regional Manager to coordinate with all support groups to ensure they are supporting the aircraft schedule including checking the status of certain jobs with the support shop; billing the service order within established goal of 5 days after aircraft departure.
10. Coordinates line inspections to ensure the plan is followed and during delivery ensures paperwork accountability
11. Communicates with management from other shifts to assure smooth shift turnover
12. Conducts employee meetings / Shift Briefings/ weekly system wide conference calls to inform employees of important work issues
13. Ensures technical and OJT training is provided to employees as needed and employee attend training classes as scheduled; conduct formal and on-the-job training as authorized by the HAECO Training Department.
14. Performs administrative functions including:
1. Audit paperwork
2. Tool box inspections
3. Check tooling log for proper usage
4. Assure mechanics are assigned to correct jobs with no unassigned time
5. Assure parts are available for aircraft and shortages are resolved

15. Regularly works with sensitive or confidential information and must ensure it is safeguarded to protect employee, customer and vendor requirements.
16. Performs other work as needed to support successful line maintenance operations, including special projects.
17. Participates in aircraft investigations to help find root causes and develop corrective actions.
18. Performs periodic station self audits for compliance to operating procedures.
19. Provides timely notification of aircraft status to local customer personnel and maintenance control.
20. Ensures all Customer and HAECO inventory (includes Hazmat and shelf life items) are properly maintained to Customer and HAECO standards and all required parts are ordered and tracked.

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

1. 5+ years experience performing as an accomplished aircraft mechanic with progression of Line Maintenance responsibilities or 2 year previously demonstrated ability within HAECO
2. FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate
3. Must be on the electronic roster
4. Read, write, speak and understand the English language
5. Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record to be insured for operation of company vehicle
6. Interface effectively with members of management, other departments and co-workers.
7. Capable of interpreting drawings and blueprints
8. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to interact with a wide variety of people
9. Basic computer skills and a high school diploma or equivalent are required
10. Flexible hours and off shifts may be required

PREFERRED:

1. Previous successful experience of a Supervisory or Leadership capacity in a Commercial Airline Line Maintenance operation preferred.
