Maintenance Planner

Status: Full-time, Non-exempt

Location: Van Nuys, Ca

Position Summary

The Maintenance Planner reports to the Operations Manager of MRO Services and is responsible for the planning and scheduling of maintenance events; produces service quotes and maintenance proposals.

Responsibilities

* Manages schedule to ensure that data, material, tooling and personnel are available when required.

* Ensures adequate housing is available when performing work at another location.

* Collaborates with air carrier to ensure documentation, training, approvals are in place prior to performing work.

* Reviews operator requirements prior to input.

* Documents operators’ operating rules on Aircraft Work Authorization.

* Communicates with customers, vendors and other managers to support customer needs as required.

* Monitors work in progress and communicate problem areas.

* Schedules and Chairs pre-arrival and planning meeting.

* Plans for all Material required in preparation for the proposed project.

* Collaborates with the material group during the pre-planning phase to ensure timely arrival of all ordered material and aircraft parts.

* Evaluate, process, format and distribute maintenance quotes.

Education

Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.

Experience

2 years of experience in corporate aviation preferred.

Skills and Abilities

* Ability to effectively communicate with management, peers and external parties.

* Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization.

* Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

* Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows/Office Suite.

* Ability to prioritize and organize work flow as well as multi-task.

* Ability to handle sensitive documents in a very confidential manner.

* Ability to take initiative and execute assigned tasks in a timely and flawless manner.

* Strong teamwork acumen with a profound ability to work under pressure.

* Demonstrated ability to screen calls, manage calendars, and arrange meetings.

* Self- motivated, able to work independently and with minimal direction.

* Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.

* Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager of MRO Services.
