Job Summary

The Maintenance Manager also serves the dual role of Deputy Program Manager who oversees all aspects of aircraft maintenance, modification, safety, ground operations and depot level maintenance for the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) fleet of 211 fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft at all operating sites. Responsible for collecting and assembling contract deliverable reports, reviewing for accuracy, providing trend analysis, identifying and applying resources to mitigate risks associated with achieving mission success. Enforce implementation of policies, processes, and procedural controls through the Regional Management Offices (RMO) to all locations. As the Deputy Program Manager, exercises oversight of the Program and Regional Management (PMO/RMO) staffs and ensures a collective alignment and focus on priorities from the PM and Customer. Advises the PM and Customer on fleet trends and makes recommendations to improve/extend the lifecycle of the fleet.

Principal Accountabilities

Ensure Regions Management Offices and Aviation Operational Sites produce aircraft in an efficient and timely manner through effective management of pre-inspection planning; production floor management; and parts, tooling, and GSE availability to meet required scheduled maintenance inspection activities.
Establishes a close working relationship with AMO/AMI’s ensuring a shared understanding of the requirements and capabilities of maintenance actions.
Ensures maximum efficient operations of facilities, equipment and machinery through the direction of a technical support staff.
Recommend equipment modification for upgrades.
Assign and coordinate the work of maintenance staff and vendors.
Review and implement all mechanical specifications and manuals for current operations.
Coordinate specifications and procurement of capital expenditures.
Ensure all direct reports and maintenance employees receive job and safety training.
Conducts cost, schedule, contract performance, variance and risk analysis.
Ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction by quality on-time performance and best return for their investment.
Establish and track progress toward meeting the goals and objectives of process improvement initiatives.
Ensure operational personnel comply with established and applicable DI policies and procedures.
Recommend and initiate personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and appropriate disciplinary action.
Interview prospective employees and assist in the selection of new employees.
Knowledge & Skills

Strong mechanical aptitude in order to offer technical direction in all maintenance areas.
Ability to interact effectively with personnel at all organizational levels.
Complete understanding of operations of assigned contract.
Attention to details and able to handle multiple tasks independently.
Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of various computer applications (ex: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
