SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The ELP Base Manager reports directly to the Director of Maintenance. The Base Manager is responsible to direct all ELP base personnel in accordance with all the applicable sections of the Sierra West Airlines GOM. The Base Manager is responsible to supervise all base personnel to ensure they are performing and documenting the maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections or alterations in accordance with FAA FAR 43.9 and 43.11.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Ensures that safety is paramount in all endeavors while performing maintenance, repair or inspections on all Sierra West Airlines aircraft.

2. Responsible to ensure all ELP base personnel properly perform and document all maintenance, repair or inspection activity in accordance with the SWA GOM.

3. Responsible for verifying that all required inspection records, inspection forms, identification tags, pilot flight logs and other pertinent forms are filled out correctly prior to aircraft release and that copies have been provided to the corporate office in Oakdale on a weekly basis.

4. Responsible to schedule all routine and non-routine maintenance to ensure the aircraft are returned to service in a timely and efficient manner.

5. Responsible for the implementation of the GOM IAW 14 CFR 135.

6. Acts as technical point of contact for OEM manufactures and outside vendors.

7. Ensures aircraft and equipment in ELP are maintained to the OEM standards and FAA certification requirements.

8. Responsible for preparation, accuracy and timely submittal of the daily status report to the Oakdale office.

9. Responsible to ensure that shop equipment and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) is in serviceable and working condition and is maintained IAW the applicable publications.

10. Responsible to ensure that the tool control program is being complied with and that all tools utilized to maintain the aircraft are calibrated and in good working order.

11. Coordinates materials and equipment to support the forecast maintenance to ensure the aircraft are returned to service in a timely manner.

12. Responsible to ensure that the Lead Mechanics and Mechanics are trained and qualified to perform their assigned duties.

13. Makes recommendations to the Oakdale corporate office when additional training or additional personnel are required.

14. Responsible to ensure that all manuals and other required technical data are current and kept in a clean and orderly manner.

15. Responsible to assure control over all assets assigned to ELP and is responsible for the safe keeping thereof.

16. Performs periodic audits to ensure processes and procedures are being followed and adhered to.

17. Must be familiar with and adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the SWA employee handbook.

18. Interacts directly with and maintains a professional working relationship with the FAA during ELP scheduled and unscheduled ELP base audits.

19. Performs other duties as required by the corporate office in Oakdale.

20. Daily attendance is essential to this position.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

* High school diploma or equivalent required.

* Must hold and maintain a certified Airframe and Powerplant rating.

EXPERIENCE, SKILL, AND KNOWLEDGE:

* Minimum of ten years experience with at least seven years maintaining complex, turbine and jet powered, and fixed wing aircraft to include complex airframe modifications.

* Computer literacy with competencies in the use of all facets of Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) required.

* Able to initiate and complete self-directed research to ensure completion of major duties.

* Exceptional communication and organizational skills required.

* Strong decision making skills and judgment ability required.
