The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) is seeking a Fixed Wing Pilot to captain single pilot aeroplanes in the PSNI’s Air Support Unit (ASU).

The post-holder will captain aircraft in the single pilot role, flying day and night under visual meteorological (VMC) and instrument meteorological conditions (IMC), conducting uniformed and covert police operations. You will be required to respond to highly fluid emergency situations, including life-threatening and tactical scenarios.

You are an experienced pilot, preferably with experience of flying in emergency services roles. You have a keen eye for maintaining aircraft and completing the required documentation before and after flights. You are committed to cultivating your professional skills.

We are looking for a candidate who holds a Commercial ESA Pilot’s Licence with an unrestricted Class 1 Medical and multi-engine single pilot instrument rating. You have 2000 hours of pilot flying experience and experience of working with non-pilot crew members in flight.
