British International Helicopter Services Ltd are based in the UK and provide Search & Rescue and Support Helicopters on the Falkland Islands, along with other UK located contracts.

Our Falkland Islands base is currently recruiting for B1.3 – AW189 type rated Helicopter Engineers to perform a wide range of aircraft maintenance tasks in the line/base maintenance environment.  Tasking will include scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, defect diagnosis and rectification, embodiment of modifications, service bulletins and other mandatory or non-mandatory maintenance.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate competence in fault finding, scheduled maintenance and installation of modifications, including the use of hand tools and specialised test equipment.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the ideal candidate will have the ability to work with minimal supervision. You must also be an effective team player, capable of working as part of a small dedicated team of engineers and be able to interact well with your colleagues and the wider business. Organising you workload within the limits set and taking responsibility for your own work is also essential.

The teams work for 6 days per week, on a 6 week on the Falkland Islands/ 6 week off basis. Travel to and from UK and accommodation whilst on Falklands is provided where appropriate.  

Qualifications

  • EASA B1.3 licence, type rated AW189.

  • Full UK driving license.

Experience

  • At least one years Line or Base maintenance on AW189.

This role is based in the Falkland Islands, the successful candidate will need to comply with Falkland Islands Immigration policy and obtain a relevant work permit if not a Falkland Islands resident.
