CAREER OPPORTUNITY Licensed Aircraft Engineer (Ref: LAE/19/001)
Air Mauritius Ltd, the National Carrier of Mauritius, is seeking to recruit dynamic and highly motivated Mauritian
Citizens to fill in the position of Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAE) in the Technical Services Business Unit of the

JOB DESCRIPTION: You will be responsible for delivering aircraft maintenance services to directly support operations. You will plan
activities in an effective manner, review work procedures and standards and propose procedures to ensure
effectiveness. You will be certifying Air Mauritius aircrafts as well as customer aircrafts and you may have to work
at outstations as per work requirements and will have flying duties. As well as being responsible for the final
release of work accomplished by mechanics, you will ensure tasks are rendered to meet company standards and
targets such as dispatch reliability and level of acceptable deferred defects. You will plan the work, give guidance
and on the job training to trainees and technicians, among others.

REREQUISITES: PREREQUISITES:
You must have: Either

A. A valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License in the category B1 either issued by the Mauritius Department of

Civil Aviation or the National Aviation Authority of a country other than Mauritius. Plus A valid authorisation document as Certifying Staff in the category B1 with at least one aircraft type from the

following; ATR72, A319, A330, A340, A350 issued by a maintenance organisation approved by the Mauritius

Department of Civil Aviation or an EASA Part 145 approved maintenance organisation.

NOTE 1: If you do not hold the above qualifications, but you hold a valid License in the category B1 issued either by the

European Aviation Safety Agency or any other aviation authority acceptable to the Mauritius Department of Civil

Aviation, you may also apply. If you are found suitable, you will be considered as Technician and will be required

to obtain a Mauritius Civil Airworthiness Requirements MCAR-66 License in the category B1. After having

obtained your MCAR-66 License and successfully completed the required aircraft type trainings and examinations,

you will be offered the position of Licensed Aircraft Engineer.

OR

B. A valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License in the category B1 issued by the Mauritius Department of Civil

Aviation. Plus



A minimum of 200 days maintenance experience involved in the actual performance of aircraft maintenance

tasks over the last 2 years in a Part 145 maintenance organization approved either by the Mauritius

Department of Civil Aviation or the European Aviation Safety Agency.

NOTE 2: If you hold the qualifications stated in B above and found suitable, you will be initially considered as Technician.

After having successfully completed the required aircraft type trainings and examinations, you will be offered the

position of Licensed Aircraft Engineer.

NOTE 3: If you do not hold a valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License as stated in B above but have successfully

completed at least 50% of the modules applicable for a PART 66 basic License in the category B1 before the

closing date of this vacancy notice, you may also apply. If found suitable you will be considered as Trainee

Technician. You will be required to obtain a Mauritius Civil Airworthiness Requirements MCAR-66 License in the

category B1 within a period of 2 years after the closing date of this vacancy notice and will thereafter be

considered as Technician.
