Job Role:
Barnes Aerospace West Chester MRO division is seeking a Laser Operator. The ideal candidate should be a quick learner with attention to detail and strong analytical/problem solving skills. Core Responsibilities:
* Primary duty to set-up and operate CNC Grinder, EDM or 4-or 5-axis Laser machines ensuring parts conform to specification and requirements.
* Monitor parts dimensions using jigs, fixtures, gages, calipers, micrometers and height gages to assure conformity of parts.
* Complete paperwork required to document the quality of parts completed.
* Check paperwork to determine required assembly and any special options.
* Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and sub-assemblies, per customer order.
* Use precision measuring tools to check parts for correct fit and dimensions.
Required Skills
Qualifications
* Must have two years of experience in a production/shop position, preferably in aerospace.
* Experience with set-up and operate CNC Grinder, EDM or Laser machines is preferred.
* Able to use basic math to add, subtract, multiply or divide and may work with fractions, decimals or percentages.
* Able to follow simple instructions or directions.
* Able to communicate verbally and in writing as to work requirements, work in progress or work completion.
Education Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
