Work under general direction of supervision to perform test functions for initial qualification, requalification and acceptance of material in accordance with accepted company and customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

* Execute tests such as climbing drums, lap shears, short beam shears, flexures, resin contents, wedge tests, tensiles and others as necessary to insure material is qualified for use in the production process.
* Record and prepare incoming component samples for testing according to approved specifications.
* Perform appropriate tests on samples.
* Issue acceptance and rejection reports based on test results.
* Release material to production if test results fall within accepted standards or alert quality engineering to determine cause and corrective action if test results are unacceptable.
* Check adhesive records, dust counts, hydro oil and fuel samples for contamination.
* Maintain files, ATR’s, Oven Charts and other related logs and reports used to obtain and/or furnish information.
* Collect and identify chemical and metallurgical solutions used in the production process.
* Perform the chemical and metallurgical test analysis and notify production on the proper documentation of the results.
* Report an unusual circumstance, condition or defective material to supervision.
* Maintain Safety awareness of chemical handling and operation of lab equipment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

* Requires the use of shop mathematics, together with the use of complicated drawings, charts, specifications, tables; the ability to work with calibrated tools, precision measuring instruments.
* Equivalent 1 to 3 years applied trades training
* 1 to 3 years prior experience

REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

* Maintain personal productive and quality standards as determined by supervision.
* Follow standard departmental/company practices and procedures, as outlined by management.
* Where required to access DOD classified information, must be qualified for appropriate security clearance.
* Maintain area in a clean and orderly condition.
* Perform similar and other related duties as required.
