Job Summary

As an Junior Information Security Engineer at Rockwell Collins, you will work with a team of highly-skilled and widely sought-after information security Experts in the Critical Infrastructure and Transportation domains at some of the most sensitive sites in the country. You will be able grow your career with a wide variety of information security tasks which will be challenging and highly-rewarding as you progress your career and the mission.

Job Responsibilities

* Assist with implementing Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to secure operating systems, databases, and information technologies in accordance with documented standards.

* Assist with supporting field team members in information-centric life cycle management services to clients after fielding of the system including patch validation & deployment, vulnerability management, log review, incident response, etc.

* Assist with developing roadmaps and cutover plans for new information technologies as they arise, and for replacing information technologies before they reach end of life.

* Assist with supporting the continued growth of the Information security department by conducting online and in-person seminars and workshops to demonstrate the value of information security with potential clients, identifying and pursuing follow-on/add-on opportunities with existing clients, and identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in adjacent verticals.

* Provide support meeting with both current and potential clients to conduct informal and formal requirements gathering.

* Assist with configuring, managing, and maintaining networking equipment (switches, routers, etc.), information security equipment (firewalls, IPS/IDS, SIEM)

* Assist with configuring, managing, and maintaining both Windows and Linux operating systems.

* Help support and take part in securing existing in-house applications and programs to current best-practice and industry standards.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree six years of related experience

* Entry level experience or degree in the field of information security, systems engineering, and / or integration of information security technologies.

* This position requires you to work in a restricted facility requiring US citizenship or Permanent Residence (Green Card) with the ability to obtain a security clearance for on-site support at client sites, if required.

* Ability to work with limited supervision at times while maintaining efficiency and quality of your deliverables.

* Excellent team player, with the ability to work under pressure with a positive attitude.

Preferred qualifications

* Experience with documentation of policies, procedures, processes and technical requirements.

* Experience working within a formal systems engineering process-driven environment, and maintaining configuration management of all work products.
