General Responsibilities:

Our UK office currently has an opening for a Regional IT Coordinator – Europe, Middle East & Africa.  The Regional IT Support Coordinator is an extension of the Information Technology department at Universal Weather and Aviation based internationally to provide support to the assigned international region.  This position has many aspects including, but not limited to, being an advocate for IT corporate standards and procedures, as well as an advocate for the needs of the supported locations. This position will offer technical support as needed and will coordinate 3rd party IT support organizations as needed to facilitate and ensure effective and efficient computing environments.  This position will be expected to understand and have documented the computing environment of each of the supported locations and will provide input into IT future direction.  This individual will also be responsible to assist in business continuity planning for each location.  This individual will report to the Manager, Global IT Support. 

Principal Duties:

Provide a point of liaison, communication and co-ordination between assigned regional offices, managers, users and IT management in Houston. To be an effective communicator and provide efficient and effective technology solutions to meet the local office’s business requirements. Provide advice, support and helpdesk function to all users in assigned region.

Respond to day-to-day IT incidents and problems as they arise during standard office hours.

Respond to out of hours calls from Houston technicians where direct intervention or specialist knowledge is necessary and third-party support is not available.

Maintain warranty and service records for all equipment, coordinate input into the asset management system.

Liaise with and supervise third party contractors where necessary.

Identify, liaise with and supervise local IT support backup staff where necessary.

Provide training assistance in general computer use and basic company applications where necessary.

Recommend solutions to hardware and software problems; work with corporate to achieve buy-in and create plans to move forward.

Provide technical on-site maintenance and support for new and existing systems.

Troubleshoot software and hardware failures and identify network problems when they relate to personal computers and office sites.

Diagnose and resolve telecommunications issues at regional locations, in cooperation with corporate IT telecommunications group.

Document and communicate solutions to common computer and network software and hardware problems.

Schedule and perform, or supervise the performance of, preventative maintenance and repairs on computers, networks and peripheral equipment at regional locations.

Supervise cabling and other work performed by IT suppliers at regional locations.

Ensure compliance with established corporate IT security policies and coordinate with IT security management to remediate issues when necessary.

Meet with users to discuss any issues or problems they may be having; visit locations as needed, probably around 3 times per year if necessary.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Education/Training:

Preferred college degree in computer science or other related degree program 

Preferred MCSE, A+ PC, Network+, CCNA or similar certifications

Work Experience:

Strong PC system administration experience in a LAN environment

Strong understanding of Windows operating systems

Experience with all Microsoft Office products

Troubleshooting experience with hardware, software, and telecommunications devices

Preferred experience with LanSweeper asset tracking software

Preferred experience with ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus software
